Understanding Lab Order Statuses

When you place a lab order through Akute, the system confirms that the order was successfully sent to the lab. However, it’s important to note that we do not receive real-time status updates from the lab after that initial confirmation.

What This Means

  • Once the lab order is submitted, Akute receives a confirmation that the lab has received the order.

    After that point, the lab may update the order internally with statuses such as:

    • “Received”
    • “Processing”
    • “In progress”
    • “Awaiting results”
  • These intermediate statuses are not sent back to Akute, so you won’t see them reflected in the chart.

Why This Happens:

Most labs do not share their internal processing statuses externally. Instead, they only send a confirmation when the order is received and then return final results once testing is complete

What You Can Do:

If you’re ever unsure about the status of a test, you can follow up directly with the lab using the order details. We’re continuing to explore ways to improve lab order visibility and appreciate your patience!
