How It Works for Providers & Patients

RxSavings helps patients save money on prescriptions by giving them access to real-time discounts and pharmacy price comparisons before their prescription is sent. It reduces cost-related delays and helps providers ensure patients can afford their medication.

For Providers

What You Do: Prescribe as you normally would in Akute. Make sure the patient’s mobile phone number is correct in their chart before sending the prescription.

What Happens Next: When a prescription is sent, the patient may receive a secure text message with a link to view available prescription savings. If the patient chooses a coupon or discount, they will receive instructions on how to use it at their chosen pharmacy. You do not need to re-send or edit the prescription.

Important Notes: RxSavings is available for many but not all prescriptions. Patients will only receive a text if savings are identified.

For Patients

What to Expect: After your provider sends your prescription, you may receive a secure text message with a link to view savings options. You can compare prices and select a coupon to apply at your pharmacy.

If You Do Nothing: Your prescription will be filled without a coupon. You may also opt-out of these texts at any time by replying, “STOP.”

If You Select a Coupon: The coupon details will be included in your text message, and you can show them at your chosen pharmacy to receive the discount.
