Getting started with Zoom

By connecting your Zoom account to Akute, you can streamline the process of creating Zoom meetings for your appointments, saving you valuable time and reducing clicks. Akute's Zoom integration will automatically generate a personalized Zoom link and dial-in details for your scheduled video visits.

How to connect your Zoom account to Akute

To begin using Akute's Zoom integration, you'll need to enable the Akute-Zoom integration. To do this, please follow these steps:

  1. Log in to your Akute account.
  2. Navigate to Settings —> Organization.
  3. Check "Allow Zoom Integration" and - if desired - "Set Zoom as default" and click to save your changes. You can hover over the black circles next to each setting for more information.

  4. Navigate to Integrations in the left-hand navbar.
  5. Click on Zoom, click the toggle, and follow the prompts to authorize Akute to integrate with your Zoom account.

Scheduling Zoom Meetings with the Akute-Zoom Integration

Once your Zoom is live, you will easily be able to add Zoom meetings to your video visits. Below, we'll demonstrate how this functions for self-scheduled appointments as well as manually scheduled appointments.

Zoom Meetings with Self-Scheduled Appointments

To add Zoom meetings to self-scheduled appointments, please make sure the following settings are enabled in Settings —> Organization.

Then, make sure Video Visit is toggled "Yes" for each appropriate appointment type.

When a patient schedules an appointment on your self-scheduling page, they will receive an email with the link to the Zoom meeting, and you will see an event in your calendar that includes the Zoom link (as shown below). All you need to do is click on the Zoom link and the correct meeting will open in Zoom.

Zoom Meetings with Manually Created Appointments

To add Zoom meetings to your manually created appointments, please make sure that "Allow Zoom integration" is enabled in Settings —> Organization. If you'd like Zoom to be the default video option for video visits, please select "Set Zoom as default" as well.

Then, create your appointment from your calendar. When Video Visit is selected, you'll see that Zoom is an option for your video link. You'll have the option to email appointment details to the patient and/or practitioner.

A unique Zoom meeting link will be created when the appointment is saved. When you click into the appointment from your calendar, you'll see this unique link.
