Closing Conversations in Akute
You can now mark a patient message thread as Closed to help keep your inbox organized. Closing a conversation hides it from your main view, but the thread will automatically reopen if the patient replies, ensuring nothing is ever missed.
How to Close a Conversation
Option 1: From inside the conversation
- Open the message thread.
- Click the three-dot menu in the top right.
- Select Close Conversation.

Option 2: From the inbox
- Right-click on the conversation.
- Select Close Conversation.
This will immediately hide the thread from your main inbox.

Automatically Reopens When the Patient or Provider Replies
If the patient sends another message in the same thread (or the same SMS thread), the conversation will automatically reopen so you never miss follow-up messages. If a clinician opens the closed thread and sends a message, this will also reopen the conversation.
Viewing Closed Conversations
You can filter your inbox to show closed conversations at any time using the Filters menu.
