Sending Message From Task

You can message a patient directly from a task! Now, your entire workflow of:

  1. See new lab report task
  2. Reviewing results
  3. Messaging patient about results and including PDF in message
  4. Closing task

Can all be done without ever leaving the task screen.

This is just one example use for this feature! We believe this will cut down significantly on time AND clicks spent on many common workflows, including lab report reviews.

Here are the details of how this works:

  1. Select "Start Conversation" near the Save and Archive buttons in a task
  2. We default to a new secure conversation, but you can change this to be sent via SMS, Akute Secure message, or Spruce Secure message (if you have Spruce integrated).
  3. Then, choose if you want to send the message as part of a new conversation, or part of an existing conversation. You can check the existing conversations to see the title, the date of the last message, and who sent it to help you decide.
  4. You can edit the default conversation title (if starting a new conversation).
  5. Finally, type your message and send! The file attachment in the task (if any) will automatically be included if the conversation is sent via a Secure message or a Spruce message. Akute SMS does not support attachments (Spruce SMS, however, does support attachments).
  6. If you come back to that task later, you'll see that a conversation was previously started. That way, you know these were already sent to the patient. Clicking on that will take you to the conversation where you can review the messages.
