Clinic Wide Pharmacy Tasks

The Clinic Wide Pharmacy Tasks filter makes it possible to view refill requests across your entire clinic. Previously, refill requests were only visible to the prescribing provider. This limited visibility created challenges for cross coverage when providers were unavailable. With this update, your team can now surface and track refill requests clinic-wide.

How It Works

  1. Enable the Filter: In the Tasks view, select the Clinic Wide Pharmacy Tasks filter from the Presets menu.
  2. Choose Providers: After enabling the filter, select which providers’ refill requests you want to view under Owner.
  3. View Requests: Refill requests, if present, will appear under a new section labeled Pharmacy Requests. Clicking into this section will display a list of requests by patient and provider. If a patient has requests with more than one provider, you’ll see a separate entry for each provider.
  4. Open a Request: From the list of pharmacy requests, click into the request you'd like to access. This will take you to the e-Prescribe module, where prescribers and prescribing agents can view and act on the refill.

Important Notes

  • Visibility for Clinical Staff: Clinical staff who are not prescribers can see that a refill request exists, which patient it belongs to, and which provider it is assigned to. However, they cannot view the request in the e-Prescribe module.
  • Prescriber Access: Only prescribers and prescribing agents can open and complete the refill request in the e-Prescribe module.
  • Cross Coverage Benefit: This update ensures refill requests are visible clinic-wide, improving coverage when providers are out of office.

Why This Matters

By surfacing refill requests clinic-wide, this update ensures patients receive timely medication refills even when their primary provider is unavailable. It improves collaboration across your care team and reduces the chance of missed or delayed requests.
