How to Set Telehealth Only Days

If you want to make yourself available for telehealth appointments only on certain days, you can do that using Appointment-Type Availability.

Example Goal

You want to be:

  • Telehealth only on Monday
  • Available for all appointment types Tuesday through Thursday
  • Telehealth only on Friday

Step 1: Update Your Default Availability

First, remove the telehealth-only days or hours from your Default Availability. For the example above, your default availability should only include:

  • Tuesday: 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM
  • Wednesday: 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM
  • Thursday: 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM

This ensures you are only available for all appointment types on those days.

Step 2: Create a Telehealth Availability Set

Next:

  1. Go to Settings → Availability
  2. Click Add Availability Set
  3. Name the set something like Telehealth Only

    Under Applies to, select Telehealth

    Choose the days and times:

    • Monday: 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM
    • Friday: 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM
  4. Click Save

Why This Matters

Appointment-type availability is additive, not restrictive. That means if Monday and Friday are still included in your default availability, then patients could still book all appointment types on those days. To make a day truly telehealth-only, those hours must be removed from default availability first.

Final Result

With this setup:

  • Monday: Telehealth only
  • Tuesday to Thursday: All appointment types
  • Friday: Telehealth only
