Our prior authorization system supports one document per PA request, which is due to limitations within the current NCPDP standard.

How to Consolidate Multiple Documents

If your PA requires multiple files (lab results, chart notes, specialist letters, etc.), combine them into a single PDF before uploading.

Recommended Steps

  1. Gather all documents needed for the PA
  2. Combine them into one PDF using:
    • Your computer's built-in PDF tools (Preview on Mac, Print to PDF on Windows)
    • A vetted HIPAA-compliant online tool
    • Your scanner's multi-page scan feature
  3. Upload the combined PDF through Akute's PA workflow

File Requirements

  • Maximum file size: 10 MB for electronic submissions
  • Page limit: 20 pages for faxed requests
  • Format: PDF only
