How We Define an Active Patient

For billing and reporting purposes, an active patient is defined in one of two ways:

1. If you use the Hint integration for membership or practice management

Any patient with an active membership in Hint is considered active.

2. Whether or not you use Hint

A patient is also considered active if there is meaningful activity in their chart during the month. This includes actions such as:

• Writing a note
• Prescribing a medication
• Placing an order
• Updating any part of the chart

Simply viewing a chart does not count as activity.
