Changing a patient’s address/appointment state
You can change a patient’s address state in their chart in the demographics tab. You can also change this via the API and/or change their appointment state via API. Currently appointment states must be changed via API.
Let’s use NY and NJ as examples. Appointment state can be used to say a patient is “being seen” in NY when really they live in NJ. Keep in mind, when a patient has an appointment state, Akute will use that over address state when filtering for provider licenses. This means if a provider has a NY license only, and a patient’s address state is NY but their appointment state is NJ, the provider won’t be able to see the patient without enabling the “All patients” option.
Pro tip: after toggling “All patients” on/off, refresh your screen to make sure the change is made.
