Adding Insurance Information to a Patient Chart

If you use Hint: Akute uses a different payor lookup from Hint, so we are not able to pull the insurance information from Hint. We do show suggested information based on Hint data (found in the insurance tab in the Akute chart) which can be used to add the insurance information in Akute.

If there is suggested insurance information, it will show up on the insurance tab of the patient chart. If there isn't suggested insurance information, you won’t see anything here.

Suggested insurance information that does appear will be next to an orange symbol on the right side of the screen (the section titled "Insurance Information").

To make a "Suggested" plan into a "Registered" plan, type the payor name in the payor/plan field and select the option that fits the intended plan. If no options exist that match the patient's plan, choose the "Create ..." option. If using the Create option, then added address/contact information for the payor.

Now that plan is fully registered for the patient and will be included on orders successfully.
