Pop-up errors with Safari

If you’re using Safari and are experiencing issues with e-Prescribe or lab ordering not working - especially if you typically use Akute in Chrome - it might be a browser issue. Safari blocks third-party cookies by default, which enable single sign on with DoseSpot and Health Gorilla (e-Prescribe and lab ordering). There are a few options to fix this issue in Safari:

  1. Right click on "Add Medication" and "Order Labs" and click open in a new tab. That will enable single sign on to work.
  2. Default enable open in a new tab (without right click) by changing the settings in your Settings —> Profile tab in Akute (see video here).
  3. Enable third-party cookies in Safari. The default behavior will then work in Akute without any settings changes. However, because this is a bit more technical and affects all websites (not just Akute), we’d recommend the first two options.
