Creating a referral (overview)

You can easily create referrals to send via fax or print from the chart. There are a few methods to start a referral:

Via the summary bar 3-dot icon or the referral section in a chart (write an order, include multiple notes, documents, problems, etc.)
- This is the most flexible and customizable referral method to create referrals from
- You can easily include med list, allergy list, problem list, notes, documents, order information, and other information in this referral type.

Via a note (if you want to just send a note as a referral)
- Look for the 3-dot icon, then choose "Start referral".
- This is limited to including only that Note in the referral with no order page, med list, allergy list, problem list, or documents.
Or via a document (if you want to send a document as the referral)
- Look for the 3-dot icon, then choose "Start referral".
- This is limited to including only that Document in the referral with no order page, med list, allergy list, problem list, or notes.
