SMS opt-out/opt-in

Per carrier regulations, patients are able to opt in and out of SMS communication. 

Opt-out: We handle standard English-language reply messages such as STOP, UNSTOP, UNSUBSCRIBE or CANCEL in accordance with industry standards.

Opt-in: To opt back in to receiving SMS communication from your practice, patients can message START and UNSTOP to that same number.

Akute does not provide a list of patients who have opted out from communication. Should you receive an error message that a patient has opted out from SMS communication, our recommendation is to email or call that patient and ask them to follow the opt-in instructions above.
